From SHARE Center: Trauma-informed Yoga Program for Student Survivors

September 22, 2021

Trauma-informed Yoga for Survivors, provided by the SHARE Center - Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education

-----

The first 8-week virtual series begins October 8 at noon, with additional times to be announced.

To schedule an intake meeting, please email: sharecenter@yale.edu

The program will explore re-connection to the self through mind, body, and spirit. It will provide survivors with a means of becoming reacquainted with their bodies, help them become grounded in the present moment, and allow them to explore the benefits of mindfulness as they flow breath to movement in guided practice and meditation.

Each class offers survivors a supportive and compassionate space, integrates empowering language, and is grounded in the frameworks of safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and cultural competence.

The postures and breathwork are throughtfully crafted to help uncover trauma imprints, support the healing process, nurture the nervous system, and lessen the grip that past experiences of trauma may have on the heart.
