The Francis Gilman Blake Award was established in 1952 by Nu Sigma Nu and endowed by Dr. Robert C. Kirk, B.S., Yale 1930s, as a memorial to his twin brother, Dr. Gilman D. Kirk, B.S., Yale 1930s. It is awarded annually to the member of the faculty of the School of Medicine designated by the senior class as the most outstanding teacher of the medical sciences.
