And now ... the Second Year Show

February 20, 2013

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Friday, February 22, is the last day to purchase advance tickets to the Second Year Show, “The Walking Med.” Tickets will be sold at Marigolds from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Online ticket purchases via credit card and PayPal continue to be available at http://thewalkingmed.com through 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Advance tickets are $15 for students, $20 for general admission, and $50 for VIP tickets. We have a new policy for online purchasers: all who purchase tickets on PayPal will receive an e-ticket from us, in addition to any PayPal receipt you may receive. Please bring your e-ticket with you to get into the show.

Ticket prices at the door are $20 for students, $25 for general admission, and $50 for VIP. Similarly, any tickets purchased online after the 5:00 p.m. deadline on Friday are considered at-the-door tickets and will reflect the $5 price increase.

We would like to remind everyone to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of show opening to ensure adequate time for check-in and seating, particularly for those seeking to sit in the balcony. The show is at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, February 22, and Saturday, February 23, in Harkness Auditorium.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Yours,

YSM Class of 2015

More about the show

A zombie-themed television series was the inspiration for this year’s Second Year Show, titled “The Walking Med,” which will be staged on Friday, Feb. 22, and Saturday, Feb. 23, by the Yale School of Medicine’s Class of 2015.

Proceeds from the show, an annual tradition at the medical school, will benefit the Hunger & Homelessness Charities.

In the popular television series, “The Walking Dead,” a sheriff’s deputy awakens from a coma to find the world overtaken by zombies. “The Walking Med,” say the organizers, is “an action-packed, comedic, and personal journey through the horrors — as well as joys — of medical school.” (Watch the trailer below.)

The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Harkness Auditorium, 333 Cedar St. Click here for ticket information.
