  • 00:00The thing that is so incredibly
  • 00:03special about this place is just
  • 00:06the marriage between this history of
  • 00:08academic success really mixed with
  • 00:09this feeling of community and family
  • 00:11and being connected to New Haven
  • 00:13and being connected to one another.
  • 00:19Many of us are both taking care of
  • 00:21patients as well as studying what causes
  • 00:24disease, and that relationship
  • 00:26really makes us unique.
  • 00:28At the end of the day, medicine
  • 00:30is a team sport, so to be able to learn
  • 00:32how to interact in a team environment
  • 00:34only propels medicine forward.
  • 00:37Medicine has progressed so much,
  • 00:40and we have to be continual learners.
  • 00:43Yale creates physicians and scientists
  • 00:45who are able to address those
  • 00:48new diseases as they come along,
  • 00:50and that means having curiosity learning
  • 00:53from our patients.
  • 00:57Medicine, healthcare touches
  • 00:58each and everyone of us.
  • 01:00But medicine can't be done the
  • 01:02same way again and again. You
  • 01:04always have to improve and we are more than
  • 01:07able because of our history of resilience,
  • 01:10because of our history of innovation,
  • 01:12because of our history of critically
  • 01:15thinking and asking relevant question.
  • 01:18Places like Yale try to nurture those people
  • 01:21and provide them a space to really say,
  • 01:23tell us what our tomorrow will
  • 01:24be so it's a better tomorrow.
  • 01:26You don't have to wait till after medical
  • 01:28school to start becoming
  • 01:29the doctor you want to be.
  • 01:30You don't really hear no, you hear?
  • 01:32How can we make this happen?
