Introduction and Welcome - Innovations in Clinical Investigation at Yale

  • 00:06to welcome you to our session on
  • 00:08innovations and in clinical and
  • 00:11translational research to kick us off,
  • 00:13I'd like to invite our Dean,
  • 00:15doctor Nancy Brown,
  • 00:16to say a few words to get us started.
  • 00:24Thank you and
  • 00:25welcome to those of you who
  • 00:28are here in person as well as
  • 00:31those who are here virtually.
  • 00:34It's a treat to introduce this workshop
  • 00:36on innovations in clinical investigation.
  • 00:39You will hear from those engaged
  • 00:41in bidirectional development of
  • 00:43clinical trials between investigators
  • 00:45and our community.
  • 00:47You'll hear about some of
  • 00:49the amazing imaging. The work
  • 00:51that goes on here in neurosciences
  • 00:54that's very relevant to
  • 00:55conversations we're having
  • 00:57about developing neuroscience,
  • 00:59clinical and translational
  • 01:00research here at Yale. I
  • 01:02will confess that I am myself a reformed
  • 01:05clinical and translational investigator,
  • 01:08and so really looking forward to today,
  • 01:11but and also looking forward to the the
  • 01:14future years to come as we work to improve
  • 01:18our resources and our infrastructure.
  • 01:21And supportive clinical
  • 01:22and translational science.
  • 01:24And to kick us off, I'd like to
  • 01:27introduce our our keynote speaker,
  • 01:28doctor Henry Greenberg,
  • 01:29who's the Joseph de Grand Professor in
  • 01:32the School of Medicine and Professor of
  • 01:34Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford,
  • 01:36and so we're looking forward
  • 01:38to your talk and welcome.
