Guided Acupressure – Allergies, Sinus, Colds & Flu
June 16, 2020- 00:00OK, so hello again and good morning.
- 00:04My name is Michelle Grand.
- 00:06I'm a licensed massage therapist Ann.
- 00:09I work at my low cancer hospital.
- 00:13Today we're going to be talking
- 00:16about acupressure and we're going
- 00:19to be working on points that will
- 00:22benefit us when we have colds,
- 00:24flu sinus pain, and allergies.
- 00:27You're familiar,
- 00:28I'm sure with acupuncture and the points
- 00:31along the body where the acupuncture
- 00:33IST would place the needle for benefit.
- 00:36Well, acupressure works in a similar way,
- 00:39working with the same points,
- 00:42but it says a little needles
- 00:44at the acupuncture IST would
- 00:46use were using finger pressure,
- 00:49so acupressure describes any type of
- 00:52massage that stimulates pressure on the
- 00:55body to achieve a therapeutic effect.
- 00:57Acupressure was originative in
- 00:59Asia thousands of years ago,
- 01:01but only really took of- in the 20th century,
- 01:05and at that point in time it
- 01:08spread throughout the world.
- 01:10Acupressure uses points that
- 01:12lie on meridians.
- 01:14The meridians are invisible lines that
- 01:16carry chi or life force tenergy throughout
- 01:20the body when a Meridian is blocked,
- 01:23there is an imbalance it
- 01:26could cause discomfort,
- 01:27or it could cause illness,
- 01:30but it's an imbalance.
- 01:32And when I say I'm ready it is blocked.
- 01:36It could be blocked because
- 01:38there's too much enerji there.
- 01:41Or there's a deficiency of NRG there.
- 01:45Ultimately,
- 01:45the goal of acupressure is to restore
- 01:48health and balance to these bodies.
- 01:51Channels of NRG there's negative
- 01:55energy and positive energy and that's
- 01:59the yin and the Yang in the body.
- 02:02The acupoints themselves are about
- 02:04the size of the pad of your thumb.
- 02:08And when we start working
- 02:10on her acupoints for today,
- 02:11you may feel when you hit wait.
- 02:14On that point you may feel a little
- 02:16nervous sensation or a little soreness,
- 02:19and that's when you're right on the point.
- 02:21But if you're in the vicinity of the point,
- 02:24you're going to still get
- 02:27that therapeutic affect.
- 02:28Now,
- 02:28the pressure that we're going to use when
- 02:31we work on our acupressure points today.
- 02:33It's a sustained pressure and usually
- 02:36a circular motion of pressure
- 02:38with a circular motion on the on.
- 02:40The point is gonna give you
- 02:42the release that you need,
- 02:44typically anywhere from one to three
- 02:46minutes of simulation is going to
- 02:48generate the effect that you need today.
- 02:50We may not get to a full 3 minutes on
- 02:53each point in the time we have allotted,
- 02:57but just know when you work on
- 02:59these acupressure points at home.
- 03:01You wanna be there for at least
- 03:03one to three minutes. If possible.
- 03:05You also want to simulate both
- 03:08sides of the body.
- 03:09Allah Meridians they are on both
- 03:11sides of our body going up the arm to
- 03:14the head and going down to the legs.
- 03:17And then we have one Meridian that
- 03:20goes the front of the body and one
- 03:23goes down the back of the body.
- 03:26The overall benefits of acupressure tool.
- 03:28A star that they could boost the
- 03:31immune system.
- 03:32They could release endorphins
- 03:34to relieve stress and pain.
- 03:37Restore harmony and balance to the body.
- 03:40It could promote self healing and Wellness.
- 03:43It could improve our emotional
- 03:45health an our physical health,
- 03:47our skin tone, an are on our appearance.
- 03:51Now again, talking about the meridians.
- 03:53Acupressure uses the
- 03:54specific specific points.
- 03:55Like I said, I'm a meridians or channels.
- 03:59And there're these invisible lines that carry
- 04:01the chi or life force throughout the body.
- 04:05If you can imagine the meridians
- 04:07as kind of rivers of NRG,
- 04:10then the acupoints are like small pool,
- 04:13either pools or dams in a River,
- 04:15and sometimes those pools get too full
- 04:18and at other times they get too empty.
- 04:22So by applying pressure we can
- 04:24sort of regulate the flow so that
- 04:28the rivers run more smoothly.
- 04:30Now the form there are 14 meridians
- 04:33and sometimes you may hear them
- 04:35refer to as channels.
- 04:37There's the bladder.
- 04:39The governing vessel,
- 04:40the Gallbladder, the heart,
- 04:43the kidney, the large intestine.
- 04:45Deliver the lung, the pericardium,
- 04:48the conception vessel,
- 04:49the small intestine, the spleen,
- 04:52the stomach and the triple burner.
- 04:55Now these meridians are not the organs
- 04:59themselves, they're just channels,
- 05:01channels, meridians of energy.
- 05:03And that's what the 14 of them are.
- 05:08As we begin to work today on
- 05:11our acupressure points for our
- 05:13allergies and sinus colds and flu.
- 05:16I just want to ask you please to just
- 05:19try to relax in a comfortable position.
- 05:22And as we work,
- 05:23we want to maintain our breath.
- 05:25We want to keep that breath flowing.
- 05:27Sometimes when we're concentrating
- 05:28or focusing on something,
- 05:29we tend to get a little
- 05:31widget and hold our breath.
- 05:32So we just want to remember
- 05:34to keep the breath blowing.
- 05:36When we stimulate the point,
- 05:38we're going to be using our fingers today.
- 05:40Some people when they practice acupuncture
- 05:42or if you have an acupressure or when you
- 05:45have somebody perform acupressure on you,
- 05:47they may use even their elbows,
- 05:49sometimes even their feet.
- 05:50But today we're just gonna use.
- 05:52We're going to use our fingers.
- 05:54It's going to kind of be
- 05:56like a Rotary motion,
- 05:57an up and down motion for it.
- 06:00Like I said, several minutes.
- 06:01Sometimes in acupressure,
- 06:02to find the point you may hear
- 06:05the term soon it's pronounced,
- 06:07it's written,
- 06:08see you in,
- 06:09but it's pronounced soon,
- 06:10and that's a measurement point for
- 06:12where the acupressure point is
- 06:14relative to a part of your body.
- 06:17So one soon is the pad of your thumb.
- 06:21Too soon would be 2 fingers across,
- 06:24and for soon would be the
- 06:26equivalent of four fingers across,
- 06:28so we'll just keep that in mind as
- 06:30we go ahead and we locate the points
- 06:34were going to be working on today.
- 06:37It up,
- 06:38big points were gonna be working on
- 06:40for allergies then are gonna be a
- 06:43large intestine for and large intestine 11.
- 06:47For sinus,
- 06:48we're going to be working on
- 06:50bladder two and large intestine
- 06:5220 for colds and
- 06:53flu, we're going to be working on
- 06:55stomach 36 in stomach 40, an long 7,
- 06:58and finally just for cough and chest pain.
- 07:01We're going to be working
- 07:04on small intestine one.
- 07:05Now, as everybody knows who has allergies,
- 07:08the symptoms are nasal congestion,
- 07:10sneezing, some clear nasal discharge,
- 07:13itchy red eyes,
- 07:14and the most important thing to remember
- 07:17for allergy release is that we want to
- 07:20focus on the large intestine for an 11,
- 07:24so I'm going to show you a little chart here.
- 07:29Now large intestine 11 is gonna
- 07:31be on the radio, the side here.
- 07:33The thumb side moving up so large
- 07:36intestine for is gonna be here and I'm
- 07:39gonna explain exactly where the point is.
- 07:41An large intestine 11 is gonna be here
- 07:44but it's gonna be on the thumb side of
- 07:47your hand as we work so we're gonna
- 07:50start with one hand and then we'll move
- 07:53on to the other for large intestine 4.
- 07:57It's located between the first and second
- 07:59hand bones, again on the thumb side,
- 08:02and you're going to feel it.
- 08:04Wait in the middle here it's a little
- 08:07bit closer to the second hand bone,
- 08:09but is right in this spot here.
- 08:12Now,
- 08:12this is contraindicated for pregnant women,
- 08:14so if anybody is on today that
- 08:17may be pregnant this is a spot
- 08:20you do not want to press.
- 08:22But otherwise,
- 08:24just take your thumb and just
- 08:27feel around right in here.
- 08:30You may get to a spot where
- 08:32it feels a little sensitive.
- 08:34Anna Little Nervii.
- 08:35But just go ahead and take your
- 08:39thumb and give that some pressure.
- 08:43Well,
- 08:44circular motions.
- 08:48Again, you may feel a little closer
- 08:51to the bone of the second hand.
- 08:54But by the second finger here.
- 09:00And continue your breath.
- 09:05If you feel sensitivity the
- 09:07pressure you wanna use is that
- 09:11as if you were taking your pulse.
- 09:15If you feel a drought there
- 09:17at a lack of sensitivity,
- 09:19you can go ahead and you
- 09:22can use more pressure. Keep
- 09:26the breath going.
- 09:37They prefer to use your index finger.
- 09:42Go ahead and use your index finger.
- 09:48And move around a little
- 09:51bit just to make sure.
- 09:53You feel around till you get to that spot.
- 09:57Wait, whether wait where the bones
- 09:59made of the first in the second finger.
- 10:13So again, right here you have the bone
- 10:20of the thumb and the bone of the.
- 10:27Index finger. And right in here at the
- 10:31base of the two bones could be a little
- 10:36a little closer to the second finger.
- 10:39That's not right there.
- 10:48Just. Make circles.
- 10:58And please keep the breath going.
- 11:04Good.
- 11:12Excellent.
- 11:23Very good.
- 11:27Hopefully you're starting
- 11:28to be a little bit of
- 11:30that release, and remember,
- 11:31this is something you can work on at
- 11:34home and you can spend a full 3 minutes
- 11:37on each point as you feel necessary,
- 11:39but right now we're gonna just move to the
- 11:42other hand if you've been on the left hand,
- 11:45will move to the right or vice a Versa
- 11:49and again. We're going to hone in.
- 11:51And we're going to find that spot.
- 11:54Between the thumb bone and
- 11:57the index finger bone.
- 11:59Right in the middle here.
- 12:01And just see if you could feel.
- 12:05That little nervous spot.
- 12:07One side you may typically find is a
- 12:10little more aggravated than the other side,
- 12:12and needs a little bit more attention
- 12:15so you'll know as we move along.
- 12:18But at one side needs a little bit more
- 12:21pressure or a little bit more time.
- 12:24But just go ahead.
- 12:26And use that pressure,
- 12:29whatever is most comfortable,
- 12:31your thumb, your index finger.
- 12:35Will circular upward motion.
- 12:42Excellent and keep
- 12:49the breath going.
- 13:00If anybody has
- 13:02any questions we go.
- 13:03You can use the chat function and
- 13:05I'll be able to address whatever
- 13:08questions that you may have.
- 13:12Use your breath if you feel
- 13:14the need for more pressure, go ahead
- 13:17and use a little bit more pressure.
- 13:21See if you start
- 13:24to feel release.
- 13:26You may be a little warmth
- 13:29throughout your body.
- 13:31May feel your shoulders start to drop.
- 13:33That's good. That's a good.
- 13:35That's a good sign of
- 13:36really starting to activate.
- 13:40Excellent. Now the next point we're going
- 13:45to work on is called large intestine 11,
- 13:49and again it's on the the the
- 13:52thumb side of your arm here.
- 13:54And it's gonna be the Crete you
- 13:57gonna find the crease of your elbow.
- 14:00And the point is actually located halfway
- 14:03between the elbow crease and the elbow.
- 14:06So you have the crease of your elbow here.
- 14:12And the point is gonna be halfway
- 14:15between the crease and your elbow,
- 14:18so it's gonna be right about here.
- 14:22Right about halfway between the
- 14:24create the edge of the crease of your
- 14:27elbow and your elbow. Right there.
- 14:30And when you press in again,
- 14:33you may feel that little
- 14:35bit of a nervous sensation.
- 14:37I lifted sensitive,
- 14:38don't give it too much pressure
- 14:40again about the pressure as if you
- 14:41were taking your pulse not too much.
- 14:46I still just go ahead right here
- 14:48between the edge of the elbow crease
- 14:51on the elbow, right about here,
- 14:53you may feel that little bit of
- 14:55a nervous sensation. This good.
- 14:57You know you've activated that point there.
- 15:00And be as gentle as you need
- 15:02to be with this acupressure.
- 15:05If you happen to have any open
- 15:08wounds you don't want to work on any
- 15:11points where the skin may be broken.
- 15:14Yes, it's absolutely OK to West to
- 15:16rest your hand on a table if you feel
- 15:19it's tensing your upper shoulder
- 15:21or your arm when you're working.
- 15:23It's absolutely OK to put that at ease.
- 15:26You just don't wanna tense it.
- 15:28You don't want to put your hand on
- 15:30the table and kind of lean into it.
- 15:33Intense it you wanna be in a
- 15:35very relaxed state,
- 15:36but it's actually OK to support
- 15:38to support yourself on something.
- 15:41But just keep your whole arm your
- 15:44whole list your whole shoulder at ease.
- 15:49And breathe of course,
- 15:50keep the breath going.
- 15:57Just keep the pressure on there.
- 16:01You could expand the area.
- 16:04Again, the the entire point.
- 16:08For release would be.
- 16:12About the size of the pad of your thumb.
- 16:16So again.
- 16:18Hopefully that's a little easier to see.
- 16:21You have the edge of your crease.
- 16:24And you have your elbow.
- 16:27So somewhere right in the middle there.
- 16:32You'll find the point you
- 16:34don't want to be on the bone.
- 16:37You want to be on the soft tissue
- 16:40adjacent to the elbow bone,
- 16:42so not not on the hard spot
- 16:44you wanna be in the soft area.
- 16:48Rate about over here between
- 16:50the elbow crease and the elbow.
- 16:53Right about here.
- 16:56You feel the soft tissue and you may
- 16:58feel that Little Nerby spot there.
- 17:05Miss give that some circular pressure.
- 17:11And as I said, if you're about the
- 17:15the size of the pad of your thumb,
- 17:18you're gonna activate that point,
- 17:20so don't worry if you're not exactly on it.
- 17:24That's OK, because when you're
- 17:27gonna do emotion like this,
- 17:29a circular motion like this,
- 17:31you're touching it and you're activating it.
- 17:34And when we do massage,
- 17:37we're often automatically releasing
- 17:38the acupressure points just be cause.
- 17:41Would you really entire body so the
- 17:43release is happening so don't worry
- 17:45if you don't sure if you're not
- 17:47sure if you're exactly on the point,
- 17:49because if you are here,
- 17:50if you're anywhere over here,
- 17:52you're getting the release.
- 17:55OK, now we're gonna move on to
- 17:59the other side of the body.
- 18:02And again, we're going to go into the area.
- 18:07This is large intestine 11.
- 18:10And it's located halfway between
- 18:12the elbow crease and the elbow,
- 18:15yes, if you're feeling a little
- 18:17lightheaded or nauseous,
- 18:19be sure you doing two things.
- 18:21Be sure you're taking breaths
- 18:23because you will.
- 18:25You're releasing your
- 18:26leasing a lot of energy,
- 18:28and if there's congestion There
- 18:30you are opening things up.
- 18:32And if there's a little bit
- 18:35of a drought there,
- 18:37you're the she is entering into the Meridian.
- 18:40So drink water.
- 18:41If you could just step away from
- 18:44the computer and get some water,
- 18:46definitely take some sips of water.
- 18:48And continue the breath goal
- 18:50in the Lightheadedness.
- 18:51Could be a little bit,
- 18:52because maybe you're holding
- 18:53your breath a bit.
- 18:55So those two things are very important.
- 18:58Keep the breath going and get
- 19:01yourself a glass of water.
- 19:03When we're finished with the fashion today,
- 19:05you may even just want to close your
- 19:08eyes and just rest for a little bit too,
- 19:10because this is a release.
- 19:15So again, here were between
- 19:18the crease of the elbow.
- 19:21And the elbow bone itself.
- 19:25And it's weighed about
- 19:28over here halfway between.
- 19:30Just give that some pressure.
- 19:35Ambris Again, if at anytime while we're
- 19:39working, if you really don't feel well,
- 19:41you can just stop working
- 19:43and just kind of listen up,
- 19:45because sometimes maybe your body is
- 19:47just not prepared for this kind of
- 19:49energetic work, and that's OK too.
- 19:51So just listen to your body.
- 19:53If it feels like you know what this isn't
- 19:55feeling good right now, it's too much,
- 19:58just take a little bit of a break.
- 20:00That's OK too.
- 20:02This program will be in the
- 20:04Yale Cancer Center Integrative
- 20:05Medicine Video Archives,
- 20:07and you can always refer back
- 20:09to it at another time.
- 20:14So again, waiting here.
- 20:17Wait between the crease of the elbow.
- 20:22And the elbow bone on the
- 20:25soft tissue. And breathe.
- 20:33Excellent. OK, good, so now we're going to
- 20:37work a little bit on those sinus pain points.
- 20:42There are points these are points on the
- 20:45face and they help to drain the sinus is.
- 20:49And hopefully open things up and maybe
- 20:51release a little bit of that headache
- 20:54pain so that it take off my glasses.
- 20:57And the first point we're going to work
- 20:59on is called bladder to bladder two is
- 21:02located at the medial end of the eyebrows,
- 21:05so the point would be right in here.
- 21:09Again, you can use your thumb or
- 21:12you can use your index finger.
- 21:15And you wanna use relatively
- 21:17gentle pressure over here?
- 21:18You know, again, that pressure
- 21:20as if you were taking your pulse.
- 21:23Would be appropriate for this spot?
- 21:27So please keep the breath going.
- 21:32If you feel little lightheaded,
- 21:34little uncomfortable, again,
- 21:35take a glass of water. It's OK to
- 21:39stop and pick this up another time.
- 21:48And continue to breathe.
- 21:57So again, it's the point right here.
- 22:02At the medial end of the eyebrows.
- 22:07You could do both at the same time.
- 22:12You could do one at a time. It's up to you.
- 22:16Whatever is your preference is fine.
- 22:23You may feel little tenderness in
- 22:26here and move around a little bit.
- 22:28You could take your thumb because,
- 22:30again, that acupressure point is about
- 22:33the size of the pad of your thumb.
- 22:36So. Don't hesitate to just.
- 22:39Move your thumb around.
- 22:44And use that pressure for release.
- 22:47And continue the breath.
- 23:06Good. Excellent and again later on your
- 23:10own time when you feel you wanna release,
- 23:13go ahead and spend anywhere from
- 23:15one to three minutes on that point.
- 23:18Now we're gonna go to large intestine 20
- 23:21which is about 1/2 as soon from the nostril.
- 23:25It's right next to the nostril,
- 23:26so it soon is about. One pad,
- 23:30some across it's right about here.
- 23:34Wait about here on both sides.
- 23:37Of the nose right next to the nostril.
- 23:43Right in there.
- 23:47And again, move around a
- 23:48little bit for greater release.
- 23:54And we'd as you work with
- 23:58relax your shoulders.
- 24:03And again, you could rest your elbows
- 24:05on your knees or on the table so you
- 24:09don't feel like you're up in the air
- 24:11the whole you wanna be as relaxed.
- 24:13And you want the muscles to
- 24:15be as relaxed as possible.
- 24:20Breathe and work this point again.
- 24:23This is large intestine 20.
- 24:34Could be a little opening going on little.
- 24:38Hopefully a little blood flow moving
- 24:40up to the to the to the head.
- 24:45Good skip that going little circular motions.
- 24:54Good. Excellent question hold.
- 25:01I'm breathing.
- 25:07And let it go. Excellent good now.
- 25:11Finally we're gonna work on some
- 25:14areas that correspond to it.
- 25:16Cold and flu and cough and congestion.
- 25:20Now. We worked earlier on large
- 25:23intestine for large intestine for and
- 25:26we worked on large intestine 11 as well.
- 25:30And those points are also
- 25:32good for cold and flu.
- 25:34In addition to that,
- 25:36we're going to work on a couple of
- 25:39points on this in the stomach area,
- 25:42so the stomach meridians,
- 25:43the stomach Meridian goes.
- 25:45It starts at our head and it comes.
- 25:48It started out ahead here
- 25:50and it comes down and around,
- 25:52and it ends on the foot on the
- 25:56actually it ends right here on the.
- 25:59Under second toe of the foot,
- 26:01but it comes down the lateral
- 26:03side of the body and crosses
- 26:05over to the front of the foot.
- 26:08But the points that were going to
- 26:11be working on today are stomach 36.
- 26:14Stomach 36,
- 26:15which I'll show you on my
- 26:16body and stomach 40.
- 26:18So those two points are below.
- 26:20The need between the knee and the ankle,
- 26:22and I'll show you as we go along.
- 26:25So I'm gonna move my screen down.
- 26:28He and stomach 36.
- 26:30Stomach 36 helps to boost the immune system
- 26:34and energy levels and stomach 40 helps
- 26:37to resolve excess mucus throughout the body.
- 26:42Now to find.
- 26:44Stomach 36 it's for soon down
- 26:47from the top of the kneecap.
- 26:51And it's along the outer
- 26:53border of that Shin Bone.
- 26:55So would it take our four
- 26:57fingers from below the knee cap?
- 26:59We'll take our four soon.
- 27:02And we're going to find the point.
- 27:05Right here and it's on
- 27:08again the outer border.
- 27:10Of this in born.
- 27:12And here this tends to be a stronger muscle.
- 27:18So it's OK to use more pressure
- 27:20here to your comfort level if
- 27:23you start to feel discomfort,
- 27:25you can ease up a little bit,
- 27:28but generally this point
- 27:30can take more pressure.
- 27:32You could even take your fingers,
- 27:35your three or four fingers and
- 27:38then your other hand on top of
- 27:41those fingers and just press in.
- 27:43Circular motions up an around.
- 27:48Again, this is the standard 36 point.
- 27:56And continue your breath.
- 27:57You may, as you as you use pressure,
- 28:00you again make you.
- 28:01Also, I feel a little nervous
- 28:03sensation there, so you know,
- 28:04that's when you're right on the point.
- 28:07But it's perfectly OK into your
- 28:09benefit to work a larger area.
- 28:14This is stomach 40 summit there.
- 28:15I'm sorry this is stomach 36.
- 28:19Up and around. Again,
- 28:22you may feel some blood flow.
- 28:24You may feel a release
- 28:27going down to your ankle.
- 28:30And that's good.
- 28:31That's a good.
- 28:32That's a good release.
- 28:34That's a good opening of that
- 28:36Meridian of that stomach Meridian.
- 28:40And continue your breath.
- 28:46Good. Now, while we're on this leg
- 28:51and decide we're going to go down
- 28:54to stomach 40 now, stomach 40 is in
- 28:58the same area of this lower leg.
- 29:01It's halfway between the knee joint
- 29:04and the ankle bone, halfway between
- 29:07the knee and the ankle, and again,
- 29:10it sound a lateral outside of this leg.
- 29:16So you gonna move down between
- 29:18the knee and ankle halfway?
- 29:21Right about here.
- 29:26From that shin bone or the TV a bone,
- 29:30it's about. One finger width. Away 11 soon.
- 29:36It's about one soon away from that tibia.
- 29:40Shin bone. And again use the whole area.
- 29:46Don't hesitate to go beyond the specific
- 29:50point because you're getting the benefit.
- 29:55By massage ING through acupressure.
- 29:59A larger area. And again here
- 30:01you may wanna use the force of
- 30:03the second hand on top of the
- 30:05bottom hand for a deeper pressure.
- 30:12Good.
- 30:20Just keep that going as you breathe.
- 30:24Again, you may feel some warmth.
- 30:26Take a drink of water, take a break,
- 30:29take a drink of water.
- 30:34Excellent. Excellent. Very good,
- 30:38now we're gonna go to the other side
- 30:41and we're going to do the same thing.
- 30:43We're gonna go to stomach 36,
- 30:45which is 4 soon down from the
- 30:48top of the kneecap along the
- 30:50outer border of the shin bone.
- 30:53And we're just gonna give that pressure here.
- 30:56You can use one finger.
- 31:01Several fingers.
- 31:02Or you can use the pressure of
- 31:05your top hand on your bottom
- 31:09hand for a deeper release.
- 31:11Good. Excellent.
- 31:16And continue their breath.
- 31:23Excellent.
- 31:27Keep that going.
- 31:34Good.
- 31:37This is stomach 36.
- 31:43And again at home you can continue
- 31:46this for a longer period of
- 31:48time that one to three minutes.
- 31:57Excellent. And now we're
- 32:01going to move to stomach 40,
- 32:03which is halfway between the base of
- 32:06the knee joint and the ankle bone
- 32:08along the same line as stomach 36.
- 32:11We get to stomach 40.
- 32:15About one soon away.
- 32:26From that area bone.
- 32:46Good. Keep that pressure going.
- 32:58Good. Make circles.
- 33:03Continue the breath.
- 33:22Excellent. OK, very
- 33:26good. Now continuing on the points
- 33:28for cold and flu and congestion,
- 33:31we're going to be working on lung 7,
- 33:34which is in a rest area.
- 33:37It's on the thumb side of the list.
- 33:41And I'll show you on myself,
- 33:43but it's approximately right here.
- 33:46On the West area.
- 33:49So if you take your finger and you go
- 33:54about 1 1/2 soon from the West crease.
- 33:59On the thumb side.
- 34:02Between the tendons,
- 34:03so we have our one soon at about 1/2,
- 34:07so you're going to be right about here.
- 34:12See if you could see that weighed about here.
- 34:15You'll feel the tendons.
- 34:19You'll feel the tendons and
- 34:21it's between the tendons.
- 34:23You'll feel, I feel it now
- 34:25you feel little tender.
- 34:26Point you made. This is a lighter
- 34:28pressure here in this area.
- 34:30It's a sensitive area and
- 34:32it's a lighter pressure.
- 34:36So using just one finger here is fine.
- 34:39It's also a smaller area.
- 34:44And continue your breath.
- 34:54This is referred to as the
- 34:55lady outside of the ham and
- 34:57a good way to remember radial
- 34:59is you think of lad like yeah
- 35:01that's good like thumbs up.
- 35:03That's rad so I always remember
- 35:06Radial Radial side of the
- 35:08hand is the thumb side.
- 35:09Write about in here.
- 35:14If you prefer to use your thumb.
- 35:18It's a sensitive, sensitive little spot,
- 35:20so just use gentle pressure for release.
- 35:24And continue your breath.
- 35:36Yeah, a little nervous spot there.
- 35:38You may feel it laid out
- 35:40all the way up your thumb.
- 35:44And breathe and that
- 35:46is long 7. Helps with the
- 35:50congestion of colds and flu.
- 35:53Sinus is and allergies.
- 35:57The final spot we're going to work on,
- 35:59and then we'll move to the other,
- 36:01the other wrist and hand.
- 36:03It's right on the pinky finger.
- 36:05Wait on the outside edge.
- 36:09Of the pinky finger.
- 36:13About .1 soon from the nail.
- 36:15So wait on the edge there.
- 36:18Wait on the edge.
- 36:19This is stomach one and this is
- 36:22good for cough and congestion.
- 36:25So when you get on that spot,
- 36:27you feel a little sensitivity there.
- 36:29Wait on the pinky finger on
- 36:32the outer edge, just about.
- 36:35Ever so slightly away from the nail.
- 36:40This one you could just hold just
- 36:43sort of press and hold. And breathe.
- 36:55Excellent.
- 37:00And breathe.
- 37:07Very good, now we're gonna go
- 37:08to the do those last two points.
- 37:11On the other hand, just move over
- 37:13to whatever side you did not work.
- 37:15Again, we're gonna go too long 7.
- 37:18Which, if you find your risk, Reese.
- 37:21Honda where Radial side.
- 37:24On the radio side, so again,
- 37:26you're on your thumb.
- 37:30Side It's about 1 1/2 soon down.
- 37:35Between the tendons.
- 37:38So you gonna be late in here?
- 37:42Right here.
- 37:48Yeah. Megan feel that little bit of
- 37:51a soreness a little nerve Venus.
- 37:54This is a lighter pressure area.
- 37:58So you can hold and make little circles,
- 38:01or just press and hold.
- 38:05And continue the breath.
- 38:13At the other release.
- 38:18Hopefully you're feeling a little. Flow
- 38:22going. From the back of your
- 38:25throat, alittle flow going.
- 38:27A little opening of the nasal passages,
- 38:31alittle release, it's good.
- 38:36Continue the breath.
- 38:38And spend extra time on your own here.
- 38:41Give it that full one to three minutes.
- 38:45Excellent, and now we're
- 38:47going to move to stomach one,
- 38:49which again your pinky finger.
- 38:53You have the outer now edge
- 38:56that it's literally .1 soon,
- 38:58so it's right there right at the outer edge.
- 39:03Of that pinky finger. Yep.
- 39:07Go ahead and give it a little pressure.
- 39:10Yep, you may feel that little
- 39:12soreness that little nerve Enis.
- 39:15Ambris
- 39:24Andries
- 39:30Circles.
- 39:33Is your thumb from your
- 39:35other hand and get in there.
- 39:37Whatever is most comfortable for you.
- 39:41Move around a little bit.
- 39:45It's OK to occupy a little bigger space.
- 39:52Give it out for release.
- 39:56Excellent.
- 39:59OK, so as we conclude I'm just gonna
- 40:02ask you to take another deep breath in.
- 40:07Who's Man release, stretch your
- 40:12arms out as far as you can.
- 40:17An over your head.
- 40:21And down into prayer pots. And Exhale.
- 40:28Wonderful, that was a lot of work for
- 40:30you today an I'm thank you so much
- 40:33for taking the time to think about a
- 40:35little bit of what acupressure is.
- 40:38You may feel little soreness in the
- 40:40points that we work today, and that's OK.
- 40:42It's like as if you got a massage.
- 40:46And you feel a little sore after the massage.
- 40:49That's that's good.
- 40:50That's a good feeling.
- 40:51So don't worry about that at all.
- 40:54It will pass within a day.
- 40:56So just drink lots of water.
- 40:58Relax a little bit if you want to
- 41:00close your eyes and just kind of
- 41:02rest for a bit and enjoy all the
- 41:05benefits of acupressure today.
- 41:06So bless you all.
- 41:08Thank you and I will see you soon.
