Diane began her nursing career as a Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Associate degree graduate in 1994, working clinically at Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT in Cardiology/Telemetry, Surgical Intensive Care Step-down, Medical Intensive Care and Coronary Intensive Care. It was during this phase of her career that she first forayed into program development while, as a staff nurse, she was selected to assist with the design and opening of a dedicated coronary angioplasty recovery unit. Diane later developed and ran a congestive heart failure program for the high-risk cardiac patients of a state-wide home care agency whose goal was to reduce recidivism and morbidity rates amongst this at-risk population.
From there Diane spent fourteen years in the field of clinical research; 12 of which were at Yale University School of Medicine. There, while serving in an administrative capacity, developed and managed single and multi-site federal, foundation and industry-funded projects and multi-disciplinary programs, overseeing the operations of clinical research within the Yale School of Medicine Cores, Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Internal Medicine. During this time Diane continued her education, earning both a Bachelors in Nursing and a Masters in Nursing; Patient Services Administration, as well as a Post-Masters Certificate in Nursing Education from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Diane is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society for Nursing and of the North American Fetal Therapy Network.
