Pittenger awarded 2015 ACNP Eva King Killam Research Award

Christopher Pittenger, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale, has been awarded the 2015 Eva King Killam Research Award from the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP).

The award was presented December 7 at the 54th annual meeting of ACNP in Hollywood, Fla.

ACNP presents the award every year to an early career researcher on the basis of outstanding translational research contributions to neuropsychopharmacology. Recipients receive a monetary award and plaque.

The award was first given in 2011 and is named after Eva King Killam, the first woman president of ACNP in 1988.

At Yale, Pittenger is director of the Yale OCD Research Clinic and associate director of the Neuroscience Research Training Program. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2007 after completing his residency and research training at Yale. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013.

He has received many awards for his research and clinical work, including grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, NARSAD, the Tourette Syndrome of America, and the Doris Duke Charitable Trust. He is an active member of ACNP and also has memberships on the Scientific Advisory Board of the International OCD Foundation, the Society for Neuroscience, the Society of Biological Psychiatry, the American Neurological Association, and the American Psychiatric Association.
