Tampi Selected to Receive APA's Jack Weinberg Award for Geriatric Psychiatry

Rajesh R. Tampi, MD, Professor Adjunct of Psychiatry, has been selected to receive the 2021 Jack Weinberg Award for Geriatric Psychiatry from the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and APA Foundation.

The award honors a psychiatrist who, over the course of his or her career, has demonstrated special leadership or who has done outstanding work in clinical practice, training, and research into geriatric psychiatry.

All 2021 APA award recipients will be recognized in the online 2021 APA Annual Meeting Convocation book. The meeting will be held virtually this year.

Tampi is a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is Chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Akron, Ohio, and Chief of the Section for Geriatric Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is also a Professor of Psychiatry at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He maintains a faculty appointment in the Yale Department of Psychiatry.

He is Co-President of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) for 2020-2021. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the APA and of AAGP.
