Biography

Maricel Braga is an urban and environmental planner and climate and health researcher at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. As a researcher with the Harvard Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment (C-CHANGE) and Healthy Buildings program, she contributed to a research team directed by National Climate Advisor and former EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy. Prior to graduate studies and research at Harvard, Maricel Braga was a practicing land use and environmental planner for local and regional government planning agencies specializing in sustainability and environmental policy, planning, program and project management. She holds a degree in city and regional planning with an emphasis in environmental planning, sustainability, and urban design with additional training in real property development from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She received her Certificate in Climate Change and Health from the Yale School of Public Health. Her research interests and professional practice in the natural and built environment reflect her cross-sector and multidisciplinary background in the private and public sector as well as her 10+ years of business and international experience in the Asia-Pacific region.
