Search Initiated for System Surgical Critical Care Chief

The Department of Surgery is recruiting for a Surgical Critical Care Chief to coordinate intensive care services across the health system. Reporting to Division Chief, Dr. Kimberly Davis, the SICU Chief's role will be to inspire, mentor, develop, and provide direction toward the broader mission of a standardized signature of care.

The YNHHS Surgical Critical Care Chief has responsibility and accountability, at a leadership level, to ensure that services and programs provided through the Surgical Critical Care units area are patient/family focused, clinically excellent, operationally efficient, and achieve effective outcomes in clinical quality, safety, cost, experience, and professional staff engagement.

General Surgery Faculty member Dr. Adrian Maung will the co-lead the search together with Medical Director of YNHH 7-1 Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Dr. Shamsuddin Akhtar, and the support of national recruitment firm, M3. Search committee members represent physicians and nursing staff across the sites and specialties with SICU needs, including Ms. Beth Beckman and Drs. Yasmin Ali, Matthew Band, Justin Blasberg, Karen Gibbs, Stephanie Joyce, Patrick Kenney, Daniel Kim, Mike Leslie, David Mulligan, Vivek Parwani, Elena Ratner, and Britt Tonnessen.
