Lisa Zhang, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Assistant Director of Medical Student Simulation at the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation (YCHS). Dr. Zhang's research interests are focused on residency and medical student simulation curriculum development and technological innovations in simulation including integration of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual/Augmented Reality. Recently, she has introduced virtual reality to emergency medicine residency and PA training and established a curriculum for the Yale Simulation Academy, an NIH-funded program for local high-school students encouraging potential careers in healthcare. She has created courses to facilitate virtual reality usage and promote integration throughout the Yale School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Health community. Dr. Zhang has led workshops at international conferences demonstrating key features of both virtual-reality simulation and traditional high-fidelity mannikin training in healthcare. She has worked with Yale University's Education, Technology and Innovation team on integrating AI into simulation education to enhance feedback quality and retention.
