MD Program

Yale School of Medicine is committed to creating a culture where all feel a sense of community and belonging and have the necessary resources and support to succeed. YSM faculty and leadership are committed to helping you fulfill your potential as our future physicians and leaders in medicine in a world that needs each and every one of you, your passion, your dedication, and your commitment to improving the health of all people.

Why should I apply?

Yale School of Medicine invites you to take charge of your own educational path and to actively engage with it.

What is the Yale System?

The Yale System of Medical Education remains unique among medical schools.

How will I pay for school?

Beginning in academic year 2023-2024, admitted MD students who qualify for need-based aid commit to a $10,000 annual student loan. Yale covers the remainder of your calculated need–including costs for room, board, and expenses–in the form of a scholarship, which does not have to be repaid. Over four years, this results in loan debt of $40,000, which is significantly lower than the national median of over $200,000.

Does Yale have opportunities to learn in the community?

Learn in our diverse local community or internationally; edit our nationally-renowned student journal, or study ethics and humanities.

A Day in the Life of a Medical Student
