Manuscript Submission Guidelines

  1. Manuscript Types: YJBM accepts original research articles (including negative results), review articles, case reports, and perspectives. Each type has specific formatting requirements.

  2. Formatting: Manuscripts should be double-spaced with numbered pages. Include an abstract of up to 250 words summarizing the study.

  3. References: Use the NLM citation style for references, listing all authors when possible. In-text citations should be numbered sequentially using brackets.

  4. Figures, Tables, and Images: Submit figures, tables, and images separately, with appropriate captions and labels. Ensure high-quality images and number tables and figures consecutively.

  5. Ethical Considerations: All research involving human subjects must include ethical approvals and informed consent statements.

As part of YJBM’s equity efforts, the journal offers double-blind peer review. Reviewer bias (conscious or otherwise) should not affect the science that is published. While the editorial board encourages researchers to submit an anonymized manuscript, they also accept unblinded submissions for single-blind review, where only the reviewer names are kept anonymous. For detailed instruction on manuscript preparation and submission, please refer to the YJBM manuscript submission guidelines.

Deadline for Submissions: Please submit manuscripts by December 8, 2025. Submissions should offer rigorous scholarship and contribute novel insights. YJBM encourages early submissions for preliminary feedback. For inquiries, please contact Devin at devin.juros@yale.edu.
