On November 30, 2023, Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center hosted the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network CT Forum. The event focused on policies that could eliminate barriers to patients accessing lung cancer screening and early detection, and the keynote address was delivered by Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD.

Other speakers included James White, Executive Director, US Medical Oncology, Lung, Marianne Daves, DNP, Thoracic Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Smilow whose presentation focused on the incorporation of Care Navigation and Care Signature Pathways to improve access to care, reduce variation, and improve health equity across the network. Mark Godfrey, MD, Interventional Pulmonologist at Hartford Hospital, Lynn Tanoue, MD, MBA, Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary) and Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital, State Senator Jeffrey Gordon, 35th District, and Lucinda Hogarty, Executive Director of the Connecticut Cancer Partnership.
