Biography

Celeste Poe, Ph.D., LMFT is the second year Early Childhood Psychology Fellow. Celeste received her B.S. from Xavier University of Louisiana, majoring in psychology and minoring in chemistry, earned her M.A. in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University, and earned her Ph.D in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University. Celeste completed her license in marriage and family therapy, specializing in early childhood while working in preschools and community mental health clinics. During her Ph.D. training, Celeste completed externships in pediatrics, the NICU, and early childhood trauma at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, Oakland and San Francisco, with adolescents and young adults at San Jose Job Corps, and in the Inner Resources for Stress center offering mindfulness to children in schools. Her research focuses on risk, resilience, and cultural factors involved in the process of intergenerational trauma.
