Welcome to the Cho Lab
The Cho Lab focuses on the development of cognitive, emotional and motivational brain circuits in adolescents with depression and adolescents with schizophrenia using fMRI. Adolescence is a time of significant physical, socio-emotional and intellectual growth. It is also a time when many psychiatric illnesses begin to emerge. We are interested in understanding the neurobiological vulnerabilities that can lead to developing depression, schizophrenia and other illnesses.
The Cho Lab also uses pharmacologic neuroimaging to identify mechanisms of potential treatments. By identifying how pharmacology affects brain circuits, we can better decide whether this pharmacologic approach is well-suited or not for a particular symptom.
The lab’s work is funded by the NIMH, the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, and the Yale School of Medicine.
