T32 Fellowship

T32 MH18268

This longstanding program is in its fourth decade and is co-directed by Michael J. Crowley, PhD and Michael H. Bloch, MD, MS. The fellowship seeks to support the development of the next generation of translational researchers committed to discovering disease-related genes, key environmental factors, and biomarkers, as well as developing novel treatments and preventive mental health interventions.

We train researchers in both basic and clinical science for independent careers as field leading investigators. A major focus of the training is to promote dialogue across disciplines and emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary teams.

During the fellowship, mentees train under internationally recognized principal investigators and participate in didactic work, ongoing funded projects, and independent research. A central characteristic of the program is its diversity and openness to all kinds of mental health-relevant fields. We encourage applications from PhD or MD candidates from any area of specialty with relevance to developmental science or developmental psychopathology.

Participating faculty are leading experts in typical development, psychopathology, cognitive neuroscience, neurobiology, genetics, and public health. We draw mentors from multiple departments at Yale including neurobiology, psychology, genetics, pediatrics, neurology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and the uniquely multidisciplinary Yale Child Study Center.

T32 trainees are typically funded for two years and are required to commit at least 90% of their time to research. Applications are typically due in December and new appointments usually begin July 1 each year. Yale is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity among our students, staff, and faculty. We welcome applications from candidates with a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives.
