The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) has included the New Haven Mental Health Outreach for Mothers (MOMS) Partnership in a report about finding new opportunities to help low-income women with children who suffer from depression.
The authors of the report, titled "Seizing New Policy Opportunities to Help Low-Income Mothers with Depression," interviewed directors of programs in Connecticut, Minnesota, Ohio, and Virginia to learn about innovative services that are helping women who suffer from maternal depression.
The paper cited a program by the MOMS Partnership that recruits local mothers to be Community Mental Health Ambassadors. The women deliver screening, brief intervention, referral and clinical treatment with clinicians.
The MOMS Partnership works to improve the well being of mothers and children living in the New Haven area.
