Child Study Center Grand Rounds: "My World” and the Musical, Medical, and Social Narratives of Autism
- This presentation aims to shed light on the diversity of the autism spectrum as well as showcase the different ways in which autistic people view their own disability. Through the story and music of “My World,” I hope to bring the audience into the worlds of Benjy and Caddy—the main characters of the show—in hopes of conveying a more nuanced portrayal of autism and how it impacts the individual, the family, and the world around us.
