As we pass the midpoint of winter in New England based on the Old Farmer’s Almanac and despite the latest winter storm this week, it has been a relief to many to see sunshine in Connecticut again and look forward to warmer days ahead. The department is as busy as ever this time of year, with many updates to share and events to join – I do hope you were able to view our YCSC 2023 year in review newsletter last month to get a sense for all that was accomplished at the center this past year, and I hope you will enjoy perusing some of the latest news and updates from and about our community in this month’s newsletter. Of note is next week’s special Grand Rounds session focused on Black History Month – this has become an annual tradition in the department, and I look forward to it each year, just as I enjoy and appreciate the many ways in which we highlight and celebrate diversity throughout the year.
