Child Study Center Grand Rounds: "CBT for Pediatric Irritability: From Efficacy and Biomarkers to Personalized Interventions"

Irritable mood and related behaviors, such as temper tantrums and anger outbursts, are common problems in children and adolescents. This Grand Rounds presentation will discuss cognitive-behavioral and parenting interventions for irritability in children with disruptive behavior and neurodevelopmental disorders. Recent studies show that CBT can engage brain mechanisms of socioemotional functioning that are presumed to be impaired in children with high levels of irritability. The neural-systems-level targets of CBT for irritability

will be discussed in the context of the experimental therapeutics approach to developing more precise and personalized neuroscience-based behavioral interventions.
