Welcoming new YCSC community members in May and June

June 09, 2023

Two new community members joined the Yale Child Study Center this past month, Cheila Norales in mid-May and Jenny Meyer in early June. Learn more about both new additions in the bios included below.

Cheila Norales: A first generation American born to parents who migrated from Guatemala, Norales joined the YCSC clinical support team as a clinical receptionist in May 2023. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she developed a passion for helping people in her community and decided to work in the medical field. She’s also a caregiver to her siblings on the autism spectrum.

Jenny Meyer: Having received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Behavioral Neuroscience from Fairfield University in May 2023, Meyer recently joined the YCSC as a Postgraduate Associate in the ACCESS Lab, led by Uche Aneni, MBBS, MHS. Meyer served as a research assistant in the Memory and Cognition Lab during her undergraduate years and completed her senior thesis project investigating the cognitive mechanism of nostalgia on autobiographical memory. She began working with Dr. Aneni in January 2022 as an intern and will continue exploring digital interventions for risk identification and prevention among adolescent populations at high risk for substance use and mental disorders in her new role.
