Biography

Nametso received her PhD in Medical Sciences from University of Botswana in 2023. Her PhD project evaluated HIV-1 subtype C compartmentalization in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma of individuals with HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis in Botswana. She has authored and co-authored several publications from here PhD work and other HIV-related research https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2433-2416. Her current research at Yale focuses on evaluating the evolutionary dynamics of HIV-1 in the cerebrospinal fluid and blood of individuals with early untreated HIV infection, as well as defining biomarkers of HIV-associated neuronal injury, including their signatures prior to treatment and their trajectories following antiretroviral therapy initiation.
