At this year’s APA Conference, scientists from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence are presenting research that explores how PreK–12 learning communities can cultivate emotional intelligence to strengthen teaching and learning. Their findings offer research-based insights into the real-world implementation of school-based social-emotional learning, the relationship between educator well-being and school leadership, and strategies for advancing community-driven efforts to support emotional development.
As an emotion science innovation hub at Yale, the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence explores:
- The basic science of emotions, emotional intelligence, and emotion skill development
- Evaluations of social and emotional interventions, programming, and practices, including RULER
- Methodological advancements in the measurement of social emotional constructs, including emotional intelligence skills, well-being, and school climate.
