Rethinking Treatment for Child Anxiety and OCD

October 07, 2022

Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) Associate Professor Eli Lebowitz, PhD recently delivered a talk at a TEDx event introducing a different way of thinking about child anxiety. A best-selling author and world-renowned researcher and psychologist, Lebowitz provided a simple recipe for navigating the tricky situations parents encounter with their anxious children.

He also introduced "SPACE," a new and rapidly growing evidence-based treatment approach. Lebowitz studies and treats childhood and adolescent anxiety at the YCSC. His research focuses on the development, neurobiology, and treatment of anxiety and related disorders, with special emphasis on family dynamics and the role of parents in these problems.

Lebowitz is the lead investigator on multiple funded research projects, and is the author of research papers, books and chapters on childhood and adolescent anxiety including the bestselling ‘Breaking Free of Child Anxiety and OCD’. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
