Education & Training
Intrinsically multi-disciplinary, Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) is unique in many ways, including through our broad scope of clinical services, research studies, training programs, and policy and social innovation efforts. Our faculty, staff, and trainees are also involved in many local, state, national, and international collaborations. Our work draws from — and contributes to —fields including child psychiatry, pediatrics, genetics, neurobiology, epidemiology, psychology, nursing, social work, social policy, and more.
YCSC training programs share the common goal of providing an understanding of the process of adaptive and maladaptive development in children and their families. This understanding is gained through supervised clinical interventions with children and families, didactic experiences focusing on normal and abnormal development, and involvement in research initiatives designed to increase knowledge and inform clinical decision-making. YCSC professional development and training is geared toward a variety of professionals who serve children and families. Our growing number of parent and family workshops offer education and support across a number of related topics and concerns.
