At Yale Child Study Center (YCSC), our faculty and staff offer their expertise to internal and external clinicians, therapists, and other mental health providers and family service professionals through a variety of training and consultation offerings. This includes workshops and resources for healthcare providers; virtual, on-demand training in reflective approaches; model-focused implementation training and consultation; and more.
In addition to the opportunities summarized below, with links to learn more about current offerings and related costs, YCSC serves as one of three ACCESS Mental Health CT hubs in Connecticut. This is a state-funded program created to ensure that all youth up to 22 years of age—with or without insurance—have access to psychiatric and behavioral health services through their pediatric primary care provider (PCP). Training in CFTSI—an evidence-based intervention for children and adolescents in the immediate aftermath of a potentially traumatic event or disclosure of physical or sexual abuse—is available for master’s prepared therapists in agencies that serve children. The FBR Model Development and Operations (MDO) team provides training and model-focused consultation to staff employed in the Connecticut network of FBR providers in addition to collaborating with agencies and municipalities in other states and territories to develop programs to fit service needs. A two-day in-person introductory training in the F4C clinical intervention is for clinicians with a master’s degree or above, in addition to on-going consultation and booster training. A variety of educational training, workshops, and presentations for healthcare providers who work with grieving families are available in person and virtually through the GSHP. These training offerings cover a range of content areas with the shared goal of developing effective, empathic, and reflective practices in working with grief and loss.
