Parent & Family Education

A growing number of parent and family education and support offerings are available through Yale Child Study Center (YCSC). A variety of workshops are available at no cost to families, and many can be offered for a fee through schools or community organizations. Information about these opportunities is summarized below.   • Comfort Ability Workshops

    The YCSC Comfort Ability Program helps families with children and adolescents who are dealing with chronic pain. The program offers workshops for children, teens, and their parents or caregivers. These workshops focus on how to better manage pain and improve functioning.   • Mental Health & Wellness Workshops

    Online and in-person workshops for parents and families are offered through YCSC's Westport, Connecticut location. Presentations can be adapted based on the needs of participants. Topics include an overview of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); strategies for supporting children and teens with anxiety or emotional challenges; and managing demanding school and/or athlete expectations.
