Giving to the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence
At the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence (YCEI), we believe in the power of emotional intelligence to create a healthier, more productive, compassionate, equitable, and purpose-driven society. For more than two decades, we’ve been pioneering the science of emotions, showing that emotional intelligence isn’t optional, but foundational to learning, decision-making, healthy relationships, leadership, and well-being.
Your donation can help us:
Advance Research and Real-World Impact: Emotional intelligence is the foundation for how we understand ourselves, connect with others, and grow as learners and leaders. We are deepening the basic and applied science of emotional intelligence and demonstrating real-world impact of the skills. With your support, we are building and validating new assessments, conducting large scale studies, and translating insights from our “learning labs” into practical strategies that strengthen well-being, school climate, and student and educator success.
Create Accessible Tools for Schools and Communities: Every school deserves access to high-quality resources that make emotional intelligence a daily practice. We are developing evidence-based courses, curricula, assessments, and professional learning opportunities for teachers and leaders at every level - all supported by modern digital platforms. With your support, these resources give schools the flexibility to adopt and sustain emotionally intelligent practices with measurable impact.
Strengthen Educators and Leaders Through Training and Coaching: Educators are the heart of every school, and they need support to thrive. We provide training and coaching that help leaders and teachers build emotionally intelligent classrooms, schools, and communities. With your support, we can expand these offerings, ensuring that even under-resourced schools have access to sustainable models that improve educator and student well-being, school and classroom climate, and academic performance.
Elevate the Role of Emotional Intelligence in Education and Society: Emotional intelligence is a lifelong skill that shapes how we learn, lead, and connect with others. With your support, we shine a spotlight on its importance, sharing groundbreaking research, inspiring stories, and practical guidance through books, media, and public speaking. By placing emotional intelligence at the center of conversations about education, well-being, and leadership, we help ensure that every child and adult has the skills to thrive in school, work, and life.
Why It Matters

When schools prioritize emotional intelligence, they become safer, more inclusive, and more effective places to learn and grow. Students build the resilience to manage life’s challenges. Educators rediscover joy and purpose in their work. Families become more connected. And schools evolve into communities of care and excellence.
Emotional intelligence education leads to measurable impacts in these essential areas:
- Health and Well-being: equipping young people with the skills to manage stress, navigate uncertainty, and address the youth mental health crisis with greater resilience.
- Human Connection and Relationships: strengthening trust, safety, empathy, and connection across schools, homes, and workplaces.
- Performance in School, Work, and Life: building the decision-making, emotion regulation, and leadership skills that drive academic achievement, workplace success and thriving communities.
Together we can create schools where every student and educator has the skills to thrive.
