Current Projects

  • Family Bond: We are developing and testing a family-based videogame to prevent substance use among adolescents designed for implementation in primary care settings.
  • Support Pre Adolescents and families’ linkage to pRevention services in primary Care (SPARC): In collaboration with the Camenga Lab, we are developing and testing an EHR-embedded implementation strategy to improve the uptake of family-based adolescent substance use prevention programs in Federally Qualified Health Care settings.
  • Primary Connections for Youth and Families (PCYF): In collaboration with the Partnership to End Addiction in a multisite randomized controlled trial, we are testing the effectiveness of tablet-supported brief interventions to prevent substance use among adolescents in primary care settings.
  • Adolescent substance use prediction: We are exploring the utility of machine learning models and advanced statistical methods for adolescent substance use prediction using complex large datasets from videogames, nationally representative data and electronic health record data.
