Biography

Ruwaydah Hasan, MD is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Georgia State University where she received a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. After college she worked as a preschool teacher, where she taught toddlers about the science in nature. Afterwards, she went to Morehouse School of Medicine where she received her MD and adult psychiatry residency training. During residency she was chair of the Wellness Committee which promoted resident mental and physical wellbeing. She is also an APAF Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow and a member of the APA International Psychiatry Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and has a cooking blog where she cooks Tunisian cuisine. She also enjoys reading, painting, eating at new restaurants, and visiting museums. When she is not at home or work, she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. She is interested about Global Mental Health and passionate about promoting cultural competency in psychiatry.
