Biography
Katherine Battle-Horgen, Ph.D.

Dr. Battle-Horgen graduated summa cum laude from Yale College and continued her studies to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology and complete her post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University. She was a clinician at the Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders and is co-author with Kelly Brownell of Food Fight: The Inside Story of The Food Industry, America's Obesity Crisis, and What We Can Do About It. Her research has focused on policy approaches to addictive behaviors as well as on children and media use. She serves as an advisor to Senator Richard Blumenthal on social media research and policy. As a lecturer in the Yale Department of Psychology and Yale Child Study Center, she teaches a course on the Psychology of Marketing and Media, with emphasis on social media and vulnerable populations. Dr. Battle-Horgen is co-founder, with Dr. Linda Mayes, of the Yale School of Medicine Child Study Center's Digital Media and Behavioral Health Program.
