Biography

Dr. Jennifer Renz joins Yale Ophthalmology after 8 years at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery.

She received a B.A. in studio art at Dartmouth College, and received her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency and fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

After training, she worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the White River Junction Veterans Administration Medical Center providing tertiary care for complex eyelid and orbit issues, maintaining a cataract surgery practice, and contributing to the start of a new ophthalmology residency program.

Dr. Renz has published as a first author in journals such as Archives of Ophthalmology, co-authored a book chapter in “The Infected Eye,” and acted as an editor of “Grand Rounds” in Ocular Surgery News. She has presented at local, national, and international conferences.

She specializes in ptosis repair, blepharoplasty, entropion and ectropion surgery, management of benign tumors and cancers of the eyelids and orbit, Mohs reconstruction, facial trauma and orbital reconstruction, lacrimal obstruction, thyroid eye disease, and orbital inflammation.
