Biography

Henrique Oliva, MD, PhD, is an Associate Research Scientist at the Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit (CNRU) of the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC). After earning both his MD and PhD, he moved to the United States to pursue his passion for psychiatry and to practice as a physician-scientist. Prior to his medical training, he earned a BS and MSc in engineering, bringing a unique combination of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving to his work in clinical neuroscience.

Dr. Oliva is a two-time recipient of the CAPES research scholarship from the Brazilian government, most recently for his work in neuroscience as a visiting graduate student in psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine, and previously for studies in engineering conducted at California State University and Stanford University.
