"Astatine-211 Targeted Alpha Therapy: Ready For Prime Time?"
Bio: Yutian Feng is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Medical Physics at Duke University Medical Center. He is a radiochemist by training, and the centerpiece of his research is Astatine-211 targeted alpha therapy for cancer treatment. Yutian's research group has developed several At-211 targeted alpha therapy agents that have been licensed to biotech companies and translated clinically. He has published 20+ research articles, two book chapters and served as Editor-in-Chief for a book, 20+ invited presentations, and 2 patents that have been licensed. In 2020, he co-founded Alpha Nuclide as a targeted alpha therapy infrastructure biotech company, and has raised a total of 40 M USD to date.
Abstract: Targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) have shown promising results in cancer treatment and targeted alpha therapy (TAT) in which alpha-particle emitting radionuclides are used as the payload have become the new frontier in this field. Astatine-211 is one of the most promising TAT radionuclide. Our group has developed several At-211 TAT agents, and in this presentation we will showcase an At-211 PSMA agent and a HER2-targeted agent for prostate cancer and breast cancer treatment, respectively. In the second part of the presentation, we will discuss the necessary infrastructure needed to reach the potential for At-211 TAT treatment, and the innovation along the way.
