Immigration

We have found that there is a great need for research in the area of immigrants and education. Currently, we have several projects devoted to improving the lives of immigrant families and children.

We recently wrote a report, called Portraits of Four Schools, which describes schools that have experienced a large increase in their immigrant populations. Included in the report are descriptions of their strategies for meeting the needs of these new students.

Another project underway is our Resource Guide for Professionals. This will provide information for professionals serving families with immigrant children, as well as information for immigrant families themselves. When this project is complete, we will have all information posted on this website.
