Clinical Training & Consultation

Yale Child Study Center faculty and staff offer their expertise to internal and external clinicians, therapists, and other mental health providers and family service professionals through a variety of training and consultation offerings. These include workshops and resources for healthcare providers; virtual, on-demand training in reflective approaches; model-focused implementation training and consultation; and more. These opportunities are summarized below, with links to learn more about current offerings and related costs.

  • Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) Training

    Training in CFTSI—an evidence-based intervention for children and adolescents in the immediate aftermath of a potentially traumatic event or disclosure of physical or sexual abuse—is available for master’s prepared therapists in agencies that serve children.   • Family-Based Recovery (FBR) Implementation Training & Consultation

    The FBR Model Development and Operations (MDO) team provides training and model-focused consultation to staff employed in the Connecticut network of FBR providers in addition to collaborating with agencies and municipalities in other states and territories to develop programs to fit service needs.   • Fathers for Change (F4C) Agency Training

    A two-day in-person introductory training in the F4C clinical intervention is for clinicians with a master’s degree or above, in addition to on-going consultation and booster training. Learn more about the intervention, which is designed for fathers of young children with a history of intimate partner violence, review F4C training costs and requirements, and submit the training survey to express interest in scheduling training.

  • Grief-Sensitive Healthcare Project (GSHP) Training

    A variety of educational training, workshops, and presentations for healthcare providers who work with grieving families are available in person and virtually through the GSHP. These training offerings cover a range of content areas with the shared goal of developing effective, empathic, and reflective practices in working with grief and loss.   • Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) Implementation Training & Consultation

    The IICAPS Model Development and Operations (MDO) team provides training, consultation, supervision, and operations quality assurance to agencies in the IICAPS network.   • Minding the Baby™ (MTB) Model Consultation

    Individual consultation with MTB model developers around implementation and clinical approaches is available for clinicians and other family service professionals. Learn more about the MTB model and approach.
