Dr. Dong completed her medical degree and internal medicine residency at Wuhan University School of Medicine before she came to the US pursuing PhD degree in biomedical science. She joined Yale Dr. Joseph Craft’s lab for a postdoctoral training after completed PhD work at University of Connecticut in 2007, where she published nine manuscripts including two first-authors. During the postdoctoral training, Dr. Dong focused on the study of a specific T cell subset development and function in the contribution to systemic lupus erythematous using genetically modified mice, in which she was awarded a postdoctoral Brown-Coxe Fellowship and an Arthritis Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. After she completed her medical residency at Saint Mary’s hospital, Dr. Dong joined the Yale Rheumatology Fellowship Program in 2015. Dr. Dong is interested in translational research and clinical application. Currently she is mentored by Dr. Joseph Craft for the project of stat4 signaling in lupus. She also joined the Yale Lupus Clinical Trials Program directed by Dr. Fotios Koumpouras for lupus registry and biorepository.
