Shreyak Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma is an assistant professor of medicine in the section of digestive diseases at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Yale School of Medicine, where he developed broad expertise in the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr. Sharma has a special clinical interest in gastrointestinal disorders like reflux disease, difficulty swallowing, abdominal pain, constipation along with other GI disorders. He is particularly interested in caring for patients with complex digestive symptoms and disorders affecting gastrointestinal function. His clinical approach emphasizes careful listening, thoughtful diagnostic evaluation, and the development of individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s symptoms, goals, and quality of life.

During his training at Yale, Dr. Sharma also contributed to clinical research in digestive diseases, including work examining the management and outcomes of patients with acute severe ulcerative colitis. His scholarly work has been presented and published in peer-reviewed gastroenterology journals.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sharma is committed to medical education and enjoys working with medical students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows. He looks forward to contributing to Yale’s clinical and educational missions while expanding his expertise in gastrointestinal motility and advancing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients with digestive disorders.
