Marissa Donahue, PhD

Marissa L. Donahue is a clinical health psychology resident within the Center of Education (COE) in Interprofessional Primary Care at VA Connecticut, where she engages in clinical experiences, research, program evaluation, and interprofessional education. Her clinical work sits at the intersection of mental health and physical health and involves health behavior change, coping and improving quality of life among patients living with chronic health conditions (e.g., insomnia, chronic pain, heart disease). Previous research interests have focused on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as a transdiagnostic approach for chronic health conditions with Drs. Michael Levin and Michael Twohig. More recently, her research involves joint initiative projects supported by VA Pain/Opioid Core and VA Women's Health Research Network with Mary Driscoll, PhD. She earned her Ph.D. in Combined Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Utah State University and a M.A. in Forensic Psychology from Roger Williams University.
