Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale School of Medicine and Staff Gastroenterologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare system. Her research program is centered on early detection of pancreatic cancer. Dr. Wang’s overarching goal is to improve on tradition cancer risk prediction by integrating classic epidemiological approaches with human genetics and genomics. Her research focuses on the development and validation of large cohort populations from multiple electronic health record databases linked with biorepositories, identification of high-risk individuals for pancreatic cancer, and discovery of the genetic diversity of pancreatic cancer across multi-ancestry populations.
She is currently funded through a 5-year Veterans Affairs Career Development Award -2. Her work has been recognized with the Frank Brooks Research Award, Stanley Bradley Award for Clinical Research , and the American Gastroenterological Association Student Abstract of the Year.
