Biography
Karen Tobias, MD, a native of Los Angeles, earned her undergraduate B.A. degree at University of California, Berkeley with a major in history. She received her M.D. degree at Tulane University in New Orleans where she recognized her passion for working with children and their families, an interest which led her to pursue pediatrics residency. She completed her intern year in pediatrics at New York University where she realized that what energized her most about working with this population were the discussions about mental health. She transferred to Weill Cornell Medicine for general psychiatry residency as a PGY-2 where she confirmed her interest in pursuing child and adolescent psychiatry training, noting the unique challenges facing children and families since the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, museums, hiking, camping, the beach, live bluegrass music, baking granola, and cheering for the French national soccer team at the World Cup (excited for 2022!)
