Biography

Dr. Mina was born in New Jersey and raised in Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Global Health at Cornell University. She then performed bench research in the Cardiovascular Department at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. After two years of research, she obtained her medical degree at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine where she served as a student representative to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Upon graduation, she received honors in Bioethical Studies and Professionalism. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Arizona-Phoenix at Banner University. While in residency, she served as the Arizona ACOG Section Chair. She performed multiple research projects, but her focus was on global obesity data and adverse perinatal outcomes. She received several awards for this research and presented her findings at the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine Global Conference in Rome, Italy. She is now completing her training as a fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Yale University. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, exercising at Orange Theory Fitness, and reading both fiction and nonfiction.
