Overview
Joyce Chung, MD, MS, is a Yale Medicine radiation oncologist and an assistant clinical professor of therapeutic radiology at Yale School of Medicine. She sees patients at Griffin Hospital for Cancer Care, providing treatment for breast, lung, brain and lymphoma cancers as well as palliative care.
She is known to provide a thorough overview of both the patient's disease and treatment recommendations, including imaging. “Often patients feel much more comfortable going through weeks of treatments if they are offered visualization,” she adds.
“Cancer patients are incredibly brave people with a will to live,” she explains. “I am inspired by the patients I meet, and by the incredible growth in technology in this field of medicine.”
Dr. Chung is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology as well as the American College of Radiology.
Part of her work as a physician is to ensure that patients are enrolled in the most appropriate and current clinical-trial studies for their diseases. “We are fortunate to have the resources to be the front runners on the latest technology that can be offered to our patients,” she says. Access to leading technology allows her to better care for her patients every day.
