Overview
Gerard McCloskey, MBBCh (a medical degree awarded outside the U.S.), is an anesthesiologist who specializes in providing anesthesia for heart-related surgeries, as well as managing heart failure and left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), which are mechanical pumps that support heart function.
Dr. McCloskey’s clinical work is complemented by his role in educating and mentoring future anesthesiologists as an associate professor of anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. McCloskey received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Yale School of Medicine.
