Yudilyn Jaramillo, DrPH, research associate, has been inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health at Rutgers University.
The Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health was founded in 1924 at Johns Hopkins University within the School of Hygiene and Public Health to promote the graduate study of public health, and to recognize outstanding achievements.
Members are inducted by chapters through a highly-selective process that assesses their outstanding performance and devotion to the field. To maintain the society’s credibility, chapters are limited in the number of members they may induct each year.
Jaramillo completed her doctoral in public health at Rutgers in January 2025 and will celebrate her school convocation in May 2025. Her dissertation project was titled, “Barriers and Facilitators Related to Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health Disorders in the Latinx Community and How to Improve Medical Outcomes."
She is a co-chair of Project Synapse, a staff-developed committee whose goal is to respond to staff issues raised in the Yale Department of Psychiatry workplace survey. She was a co-chair of the mission statement writing group, the first to write a mission statement for the Yale Department of Psychiatry in decades.
