Joshua Wageman, PA-C '20, has released a new book titled The Home Security System and the Lipid Neighborhood, a refreshingly relatable guide to understanding cholesterol and preventing cardiovascular and cognitive diseases. A Clinical Lipid Specialist and former Endocrinology practitioner, Josh is widely recognized for his engaging teaching style and deep expertise in lipid physiology.
His PhD work focuses on cholesterol disturbances in Alzheimer's Disease, and he now serves as an adjunct professor at several medical programs. With a passion for making complex biochemistry accessible, Josh’s book uses vivid metaphors, illustrations, and humor to help readers—from clinicians to curious minds—build a framework for avoiding heart attacks, strokes, and dementia.
Outside of his professional life, Josh is active in Youth Ministries at Heritage Bible Church in Boise, Idaho, where he lives with his family. A former collegiate track athlete, he enjoys CrossFit, basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, and just about any sport that doesn’t involve skates.
