New Haven Voices: Better Futures for Our City's Youth
All members of the campus community are welcomed to the fifth annual New Haven Voices panel. This year's theme is "Better Futures for Our City's Youth." Dinner will be provided; please register here by Oct. 5
- This year, we will be joined by panelists from the Connecticut Violence Intervention Program (CTVIP), which works to disrupt, prevent, and stop the spread of violence through crisis intervention and proactive relationships with the highest-risk youths and the institutions that impact their lives.
- Speakers from CTVIP will share both their experiences and expertise in how early intervention and community-based violence prevention can help create safer, healthier, and more positive outcomes for teens and young adults in New Haven.
- Following the panel discussion, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to become involved in community-based initiatives to support youth, prevent violence, and help build a stronger future for New Haven.
- Speakers from CTVIP include:
- Leonard Jahad, executive director
- Tyrone “Tiger” Whitaker, intervention specialist
- Terrence Stevenson, credible messenger
- Charmelia Ford, juvenile review board case manager
