Abiba Biao

Abiba Biao is a New Haven Promise communications intern in the Yale Department of Internal Medicine. Passionate about health equity and science communication, she highlights scientific achievements, faculty leadership, and innovative initiatives across the department’s 10 academic sections. Prior to joining the department, Biao, who is also a photojournalist, served as a communications intern in the Yale Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office, where her work was featured in Yale News.

Her writing and photography have appeared in the Yale Daily News, Yale Center for British Art, Arts Council of Greater New Haven, New Haven Independent, and Snopes. She is a 2026 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU), where she earned her BS in public health with minors in digital humanities and journalism. At SCSU, Biao received the 2026 Public Health Award for Excellence and departmental honors in public health.
